Designed for Wrangler JK Unlimited owners who upgrade their stock audio system, JKU-Pods provide an array of choices, accepting 6.5" or 6.75" speakers and either coaxial or component systems. Properly angled for listening and protection from the elements, JKU-Pods mount easily to the factory sport cage with included specialty screws. That's right, no modifications are done to the cage or padding... the pods mount right over top of the factory configuration! Each pod has a concealed wire-lead hole to hide speaker wires as they exit the pod and slip under the roll bar cover. JKU-Pods are offered empty to add your own speakers or come complete with Kicker 6.75" component speakers. Either version arrives with pre-cut woofer mounting holes ready to accept either 6.5" or 6.75" speakers. However, tweeter holes are pre-cut only in JKU-Pods purchased with Kicker components included. Having the tweeter holes uncut in the 'pods only' version, allows you to cut the correct sized holes for your specific component tweeters or leave them uncut to use coaxial speakers. If purchasing JKU-Pods with Kicker components, they are rated at 100 watts RMS per side and the polypropylene woofers have ribbed, UV treated surrounds. The titanium dome tweeters have three level selections for dialing in the perfect amount of higher frequencies. Component system crossovers can be mounted inside the pods or elsewhere in the vehicle. The system consists of the PWE-S8 powered subwoofer, SPT-70 6.5-inch 2-way component speakers with 1-inch silk dome tweeters (to replace the factory speakers in the sound bar), SPT-71 6.5-inch 2-way component speakers with 1-inch premium silk dome tweeters (to replace the factory speakers in the dashboard), an MRV-F300 V-Power 4-channel amplifier, remote bass knob and wiring harnesses.
