This thing worked amazingly well. Was in Arkansas on a motorcycle camping trip. Put this thing up one evening over my hammock. We had a severe storm with heavy wind and hail. When the storm woke me, I though for sure I, along with my hammock and rain fly, was about to turn into a wet and hail pelted kite. It stayed in place and I stayed dry (I did get some rain mist that blew in, but that was just because the wind was horrendous), even though the other guys caught hell in their one-man tents. I also was using it in a previous rainy night, with no issues.
I used the included stakes and cords for the bottom four tie downs. I used bungee cords off my Harley to connect the steel rings to the trees, thereby giving it a little more tension.
I plan on buying another to use as a bike cover for heavy rains while on camping trips. I tried it and that worked perfect as well.
