In this case, the master uses 6 kinds of wood: Dervish cherry, oak, Canadian oak (pink), ash, mahogany, beech.Due to the combination of different structures and colors of the tree, each board has a unique pattern in the form of a real mosaic.
Making such a board - a painstaking and complex work, as a result of which the master gets extremely durable, high-quality and beautiful product.
End cutting board - a board, in which the wood fibers are arranged perpendicular to the cutting surface, and not parallel as in conventional boards. Such boards are most acceptable from the point of view of preserving the cutting edge - the knife cuts the wood fibers (without damaging them and the blade) the blade of the knife sort of spreads the fibers, and after work they restore their shape, leaving the board unscathed, and the knife sharp.
The point is that in this case the knife does not cut the fibers across, but makes incisions from the end part of the fiber. Fibers of the board are infused with oil to a depth of a few millimeters, whereas in the tangential or radial cutting board, the oil forms only a very thin surface film without penetrating the fibers.
