Description
Ford Focus ST and RS with manual transmission SOLID shift cable bushings. The original shift cables have rubber bushings at the cable ends which attach to the transmission. These bushings have a lot of compliance in them that takes away from the direct feel of a manual transmission that we all love. Get that solid feeling back with these robust shift cable ends. Simple to install. General assembly instructions: (sorry this isn't the most detailed, but hey it isn't rocket science) 1. Get stuff out of the way to obtain access to the shift cable ends on top of the transmission. 2. Pop off each cable end from the shift arms. 3. Remove the plastic/rubber internal bushings from each cable. Use a flat-head screwdriver to pry and break the plastic to remove the internals. 4. There is a small green plastic socket piece on the inside of each bushing that you need to salvage (you can see this piece in the product image above). 5. Take the green socket piece and sandwich between the two aluminum parts as you thread the parts together. Put some blue loctite on the threads. 6. Tighten with 5/16" allen wrench and crescent wrench so its snug. 7. Re-clip the cable ends onto the transmission shift arms. 8. Re-assemble your car. Drive. Enjoy.4.
